Cupping is a modality that can be traced back thousands of years, to ancient Chinese, Middle Eastern, and Egyptian cultures. Traditionally this practice was used for the treatment of cold’s and flu’s to help these ailments run their course more quickly as well as to help prevent lingering symptoms. This technique, using glass cups to create suction on the skin, is also beneficial for the treatment of muscle pain and tension and reducing swelling and knots. It does this by acting almost as a “reverse deep tissue massage” in that it moves blood and lymph and allows for a deep myofascial release. Typically painless, cupping is reported as feeling “unusual”, or a good pain. “Like a giant octopus is attaching itself to your back” is perhaps the best analogy.

Consultation
For every new patient, the AcuClinic takes the time to learn about the ailments and goals, and together we craft a treatment plan.
Treatment
After consultation, the AcuClinic will perform an initial treatment to address the patient concerns.
Follow-up
Patient will return to AcuClinic for follow up treatments and progress checks to gauge progress and ensure success.
